Hey Roo! I am Angela, a UX Designer based in San Francisco
As a UX designer with the passion to learn, an eagerness to learn, and an eye for detail, I aim to create delightful tools that help people achieve their goals and put a smile on their face ☺️.
Why do I want to work at Roo?
I believe in providing a work-life balance for all, including veterinarians. You must and set boundaries and take care of yourself before you can take care of others. Roo is a company that shares this belief and I want to ensure that the work I do contributes to a cause I align myself with.
I don’t have a pet but I do love animals. I would love to have a puppy one day when I have the resources for one. For now, I am working on taking care of plants 🪴.
What makes me a great Roo Product Designer candidate?
I am a DesignLab UX Academy graduate (March 2022). As a UX designer, I take pride in creating transparent designs so that users can make informed decisions that they would benefit from most.
Passion for learning
I am always looking to improve my understanding of design and learn how other people think and behave. My ideal working environment is one that allows me to apply my skills and constantly grow and learn from others.
Design Systems
I approach wireframing with a component-first mindset to ensure consistency throughout my designs.
Additionally, as a Web Assistant at the UCLA Lewis Center, I have helped revamped various Wordpress websites and created reusable components so that people of different backgrounds can easily update the sites with ease.

Startup Environment
At the start of the pandemic, I had the chance to work with a startup called HeatDance. During my time there, I had to communicate effectively, persevere, be flexible and willing to learn new things, and more. I helped design a brand new app that is currently in development.
Applying User-centered Design
During the pandemic, I have learned a lot about user centered design through self-learning, the DesignLab UX Academy bootcamp, and Design-athons. One of my favorite projects that I have worked on is a mobile app called Pinder, which I created using Figma.
